Service Learning Project in Physiological Psychology

Service learning is defined “as a teaching method which combines community service with academic instruction focusing on critical, reflective thinking and civic responsibility.” The service learning in physiological psychology aims to contextualize the students’ classroom experiences by involving them in community work which may contribute significantly to the application of physiological psychology concepts in understanding other people’s illnesses and in the process apply previous concepts in therapy in the development of empathy, personal values, beliefs and social responsibility.

Course objective: Develop an attitude of reflective inquiry into the full meaning of physiological psychology in relationship to your life encouraging you to transcend the logical analysis attained through rigorous study of crucial human problems and concerns.
